Holiday Celebrations
Holiday Celebration - A Belated Hanukkah
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanukkah
That's a dense Wikipedia article and even includes a section on Hanukkah in the White House. Next year Hanukkah coincides with the other end-of-December holidays.
Because I was interested, I tried to find an example of Hanukkah in science fiction. I timeboxed myself as the PMs like to say, and failed. But I did find this pinterest light saber menorah. It will have to suffice.
Snarky: Way late, but closer than Diwali.
Title: Diwali is beautiful. Maybe we'll do a November holiday series next year.

Holiday Celebration - Boxing Day
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boxing_Day
Celebrating thanks for good service throughout the year. I like that Samuel Pepys mentions it in his diaries, but it goes all the way back to the Middle Ages. That takes me back (I come from a traceable line of Tudor/Stuart scholars; not as in back to the Middle Ages. I'm not a vampire.).

Maybe next year I'll give them Santa hats, wooden shoes, and a display of wheat grass.

It's January 3!
I think beginning of the year reorganizations come down to the same thing. It's all paraphrasing.
Snarky: The product you worked on is selling better than expected. So well that we'd like you to defer your holiday vacations until next year so you can build phase two.

Next time use green ones

One of the most-viewed Snarkies on snrky.com and one of the comics that stands completely on its own, even without the title. Have a happy holiday. Next year we'll try to introduce a Diwali comic to add to our multiculturalism.

I'm living in a screensaver.
I thought about titling this one, "Not exactly the definition of ambient, is it?" But it reminded me so much of the screensaver sets for the old CRTs with the flying toasters, stars, floating clocks, and such. After Dark: which has it's own Wikipedia page and you can watch the flying toasters here. And there are good history links at the bottom of the page, including how After Dark made the hop from the Mac to Windows.

Snarky: It's the new ambient system for management that we're not checking in enough lines of code.

I wonder if that's as funny if you're a British developer...
We've had a few holiday-centric Snarkies at Snrky.com. After we did the art reboot, we dug back into our archives and started publishing the updated ones a few times a week, mixed with the new stuff. Today's Snarky brought home to me that current event and holiday specific comics don't fare so well if you're republishing in order. This was originally a Fourth of July Snarky. The title was "More importantly, WTF are we at work today?" Lot of sense that makes on an actual work day. I updated the title, but it still makes more sense on July 4th. I'm too lazy to save it until July 4th, and I'm too scattered to plan far enough ahead to reserve it for July 4th, so instead, pretend today is a holiday. A holiday where strangely and unfortunately you find yourself working instead of enjoying multihued bursts of color and an ice cold beer. It will just make tomorrow's Snarky funnier as you'll look back on this one and think, "That's the Snarky from that shitty day I had to work on a holiday."

Snarky: You checked my code into the repository? That's code modification without representation!
