But I get slapped when I talk about my spaceship operator

Even though I don't speak or write anything but English I, like most developers, consider myself a polyglot.  On a daily basis, I use three or four different languages and over the years I've had some experience with closer to a dozen which is not uncommon for many programmers.

The linguists of the world might consider my comparison of programming to human language an affront on their field of study, which I do not intend, but I am interested in their ruminations on whether there is, and if so what might be, the human language equivalent of syntactic sugar.

Anyone?
